Create Your Own Course

Welcome to the step by step guide to creating your own course! Hopefully you tried out the short demo course, so you are starting to get a grasp on how our product works. If you want to head back to the demo page just click on the menu above, hit the drop down "getting started" and select "getting started guide".

Now before we get started in creating your own course, make sure you are back on the "instructor mode" side of your dashboard. Every instructor will have access to both side of their courses, but to create a course you must be on "instructor mode".

Step 1:

On your left hand side menu select the "Courses" tab. Then click on the purple button "Create New Course". You can also create a course by selecting the create course button on your main dashboard page.

Step 2:

Once you hit the "Create New Course" tab you will be greeted by the pop up shown  to the right. Fill out your school, course name, enter the date of your course and select the default subject you would like to pull questions from.

Don't worry if you decide you want to switch the default subject later, you can select from different material at anytime when making assignments.

Step 3:

Once your first course is made, we can now head over to the " Assignments" tab on the left hand menu. Then select the purple " Create New Assignment" button.

The frequency of assignments is totally based on how you would like to run your class. If you class meets twice a week and you'd like each assignment to cover 1 chapter, or if your class only meets once a week and you need more assignments to ensure students are grasping material.

Step 4:

Fill out the "Create New Assignment" pop up box. All the information in the box can be changed at anytime.

Step 5:

Now that you are on the main assignment builder we would suggest that you go ahead and set your " default points" and "default max attempts" per question. All of these can be changed at any point or changed for different questions, but it does make building homework easier if you have your defaults set ahead of time.

Step 7:

Once you select a topic then you can scroll down the question bank looking for questions you would like to add to your assignment.

First make sure in your gradebook you select students instead of assignments. This will let you go and check individual progress of each student.

If you would like to export grades select the check box of the student or students you would like to export. If you would like to export the grades of all students then select the checkbox at the very top of the list.
