Why do not all questions have an algorithmic mode?

Not all questions are well-suited to be algorithmic. These are mostly questions that only have drop-down menus or multiple choice, or questions without numbers in them.

What happens when I delete a question from an assignment?

When an instructor deletes an assignment question, it removes it from  the assignment. Any student attempts on the question are also permanently deleted.

What are all of the colors on the Assignment Progress screen?

The colors on the Assignment Progress screen give the instructor a visual representation of how students are doing on the assignment.

Green - The student has attempted the question and gotten 100% on it
Yellow - The student has attempted the question and only got partial credit
Red - The student has attempted the question and did not get any part of the question correct.

Can students see past and future assignments?

Students can not see past and future assignments in their entirety, but  they can see their attempts from previous assignments by going to their gradebook.

What is "Student Progress" percentage bar for?

The Student Progress percentage bar on the assignments page indicates  how far along your class in on the assignment. This show the percentage  of completed questions. A completed question is a question that a  student has either gotten full-credit or has run out of attempts and can no longer work on it.

For example, if your assignment has 10 questions and your class has 5 students in it, then there are 50 total questions to be answered. If student #1 answers all 10 questions correctly, then you now have a 20% completion of the assignment. If Student #2 gets 5 questions correct, 3 questions partially correct but  runs out of attempts, and 2 questions partially correct but still has  more attempts, then student #2 has completed 8 questions bringing the  total assignment completion percentage from 20% to 56% complete.

This metric can be used to help determine how far along students are, whether or not to extend the deadline, etc.

Can I change the point value of a question after students have attempted it?

Yes! If the point value of a question changes after students have started working on the assignment, the points will be automatically  updated for the students.

Points are calculated by taking the number of fields the student got correct divided by the total number of fields in the question and then multiplied by the number of points the  instructor assigns the question. If the points assigned to it changes, previous scores are automatically recalculated.
